Resident Evil 5 (PS3)
'Bout time someone made this topic eh?
And about time they brought back Chris as well! Resident Evil 5 features the return of S.T.A.R.S hero Chris Redfield as the main character for the first time since the original Resident Evil. Fans will be pleased to know that he's both bigger and badder, much badder this time around. He's also armed with all kinds of new moves and weapons, so fans of RE4 will have more control than ever in both melee and ranged combat.
But enough of about that and more on the game itself. RE5 takes place in a whole new setting for the series: Africa. Traveling to desert-like towns, vast open marshlands, oil refineries, caves, and of course laboratories there is much to see and do along the way. Even better there is much to kill as well. Environments feel much more populated with enemies than previous RE titles which gives RE5 a more action-oriented feel. The survival elements are still there as it's as challenging as ever but you won't find yourself as frightened as in some of the older titles.
With that being said, I really enjoyed this game. In fact I'm still playing it and have owned it for over a year which is a very good sign for me. I liked RE4 a lot like most people and this one really built on the what made that game great. If you were a fan of RE4, the series itself, or just action games in general then give this game a shot. It will not disappoint.
