Do your real life friends go on forums?

I try to get my real life friends on forums (or websites besides facebook and youtube for that matter) but it almost always works out like this:
Me: Hey ____, you should check out ____.
Friend: What's that?
Me: A forum.
Friend: Which is..
Me: Something where you can like leave messages to other peoples and they respond..
Friend: Do you know them?
Me: Mostly not.
Friend: *Mutters about desperate-to-be-stalked and internet unsafe Amber*

So..yeah.
Are any of your real life friends or peers into forums? Have they ever joined you have created (assuming you've created any - if not then just ignore the sentence before this sentence.)

I only have 1 real life friend on some forums and I am really lucky to have him on. He is the only proper friend who loves forums and would not go hay wire at me.

I have a couple of real life friends who actually have used my forums in the past, but I've never had a lot of real life friends use my forums or any others before.

Actually, My first forum is made by me and my friend in partnerships. then after its sale we are now on our own now, I feel lonely coz i find no trustworthy person now..

Not really. Some of them say to be curious but no matter what lengths I'd go to encourage them join, very few stayed, and the only ones I ever made join a community were the ones I was present while they created their account. Funny thing, most of them are into Facebook now, hahah, go figure.

I mean, I always thought facebook was harder to understand, but I guess it is also because we don't share the same past time points of interest, except for a few things, so I have become used to that now.
