In my opinion, a guest forum is an excellent tool for the publishing of controversial or closely held information. Participants can post the discovered information annonymously and respond to readers in a timely manner. A guest forum also allow lurkers who are not yet committed to the forum to contribute valuable or useless content.

I don't think guests should ever be able to post. There would be too much spam
